A Note from the Scouting Committeeadmin2017-02-01T22:21:11+00:00
But wait, I need more . . .
So this years’ event is different from past years. We have tried to make it as inclusive as possible and as easy for everyone to attend. But it is different.
First, its out in the middle of no where, its at a secluded, obscure state park that no one has ever heard of or been to in the past. Secondly, there are very few, if any restaurants around and even fewer night spots.
What, no dancing? No live music? WTH (What the heck?)
Yeah, all that’s true and all that is exactly the point. In speaking with the Majors, the most memorable past summits were those where we could all hang out with each other, get to know one another through conversations, trash talk and frankly, getting bored.
So as we put this years event together, the words “training camp” and “camaraderie” kept popping up again and again. So much so that we decided to try and force feed those two ideas on everyone. At the same time, we have tried to offer a mixed schedule of events that will hopefully WYAO (wear your A@$ out) while hopefully enjoying the fine company of other like minded Majors.
The summit is certainly evolving. Its our hope that everyone like our approach enough to come back next year. What happens after that? Thats yet to be decided and hopefully someone else will take on the task of finding a spot. I can tell you – Every summit to date has been a great experience. Ken and everyone who worked on Syria, Asheville, Townsend and all the others left huge shoes to fill. Hopefully Russ and I did you guys right. Let us know if we didn’t.
I’m sure you’ll have questions about the cabins, the park and certainly the rolls. (Believe me, the worst part is getting in and out of the park – Just ask Stan.)
If you do, drop me a note. I’ll be happy to help anyway I can.

This years Summit continues to evolve.
We are adding new activities to the schedule.
Please give us a little information, and we will keep you updated on all new events.
