For the final long distance route, we decided that one time on Auburn Road just isn’t enough. So, let’s run it again, only this time the opposite direction. The start of the route will be familiar. We will climb up from the cabins and descend to Harrisville. Hey, I don’t think you can get tired of this section. We love it and think you will too.
Again, we will climb up Pullman Road all the way to Pullman, but this time, instead of making the right onto Auburn Road, we will head straight through Pullman. This is a great little section that will take us to the town of Oxford, WV. Last one out of town, shut off the light! In Oxford, we will make a right onto Taylor Drain Road and run that rolling road down through Summers, all the way to Highway 18. Once we turn right on Highway 18, I know the pace line will start working and the peloton will stretch out. This is a super sweet section on awesome tarmac.
When we reach 47, the A and B routes will separate.
The B route will turn right onto 47 which will lead to the Coxs Mills general store at Auburn Road.
The A group will stay on 47 and head over to Linn, WV. Once there, the route runs south till it reaches Cox S Camp Road – Grassy Run. Doesn’t that sound like a road you want to ride? Me too! It will then run back north and meet the B route very near the Coxs Mills general store. The routes then combine again to run north up Auburn Road, through Auburn, Berea and then back into Pullman.
At Pullman, we thought it would be great to run Chevaux De-Frise westward this time all the way to Route 16. Back up 16 to Harrisville and… well you know how to get back from this point. But, if not, that’s ok, just follow the Blue arrows.
